Lindenhof

Lindenhof wines are produced by Boland Vineyards International. Originally produced for a specific client as their signature South African wine range, it has developed into a significant stand-alone brand with its own unique identity, now sold in various markets all over the world.

The Lindenhof farm is found on the lower slopes of the Klein Drakenstein mountain range, just to the east of Paarl. When the brand was conceptualized with the original client, it was agreed that the emphasis should be on a range of wines defined by clear bright fruit, stylistically fine tuned to consumer perfection. This philosophical departure led us to the vineyards of Lindenhof, which we thought to be perfect in terms of the fruity exuberance displayed by the fruit from this farm.

Nowadays the grapes are sourced from a number of farms in the immediate surrounds of the original farm, but we still use the same selection criteria when identifying suitable vineyards, thus ensuring that the first cornerstone of the brand identity remains intact. In order to stay true to the second defining cornerstone of the range, namely crafting wine in such a way to bring out the most of the inherent fruitiness of the grapes, it has always been our approach to entrust this brand to one of our younger generation winemakers, although technical support from the senior members of our team remains important.

In our opinion this is a style more favoured by new generation winemakers in South Africa. Energetically epitomizing this spirit, responsible winemaker Heidi Dietstein believes that crafting a consumer friendly wine is dependent on her spending enough time in the trade to understand preferences. This unique philosophy forms the third cornerstone for this range of fine tuned wines.
